LibraryThing not ready for double digits

LibraryThing’s ten-year anniversary is officially postponed… for two weeks.

As some of you know, LibraryThing would be turning ten years old today. But summer vacations, family visits, and work stuff have have put us behind.

So, we’re moving the clock. (Yes, we can do that. We can do anything.) So today is NOT our tenth birthday party. Our ten-year celebration will be on Monday, September 14th.

Bring your party hat.

I hope that means there are some new features for the 10th anniversary. I know the mobile website works but a true mobile app/responsive design would be amazing

Is there going to be anything for members during the celebration?

Cool! Can you guys suspend gravity? My bookshelves could use a little help with that. So could my mirror.

Yes, 10 years ago I wandered into a session at ALA, really without having any idea what the topic was, and Tim Spalding was describing LibraryThing. I believe he was part of a panel discussion…not sure though. Anyway, I left the session excited about LT and created my first library that same day.

Looking forward to Monday’s celebration. LT is my most important social network as well as being a useful cataloging tool for my books.
