The October 2009 batch of Early Reviewer books is up! We’ve got 55 books this month, and a grand total of 1590 copies to give out.
First, make sure to sign up for Early Reviewers. If you’ve already signed up, please check your mailing address and make sure it’s correct.

The deadline to request a copy is Friday, October 23rd at 6PM EST.
Eligiblity: 
Publishers do things country-by-country. This month we have publishers who can send books to the US, Canada, the UK, Israel, Australia, France, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. Make sure to check the flags by each book to see if it can be sent to your country.
Catalan books. A special treat this month–we have a Catalan publisher (Rovira i Virgili University Press) participating, who is offering a few books in Catalan! There are only 5 copies available for each of the books from Rovira i Virgili University Press, since they’re testing the waters to see what kind of audience there will be for Catalan books.

Just a heads up that I think there's a problem with the link or something. The most current month I'm able to view is September's batch.
I am seeing the same page as Kerian , it shows the Sept. '09 batch that is closed .s
October's batch is now showing. Thanks for the heads up!

I just read this article http://www.edrants.com/interview-with-the-ftcs-richard-cleland/ about a new FTC policy regarding reviews/bloggers/free books/what-have-you. Have you heard anything about this policy? It seems as though it will have implications for the Early Reviwer program, which would make me unhappy. 🙁
I can't request anything. It still brings me to September 09 and then when I click on older batches October comes up but there are no request buttons to click on. 🙁

Stephanie–it should be working fine now. Are you looking at the older batch, though? Towards the top of the page, does it say "Click here to see the most recent batch of Early Reviewer books."?

In response to danielle's comment about four comments above, I saw an article making a similar point in the October 9, 2009 Wall Street Journal page W13. The link is http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703746604574461220828153720.html and the WSJ usually leaves articles up for a week or two. My understanding of the new regs based solely on this article is that simply stating at the beginning of a review that you received a free review copy is enough to cover you but who knows what lawyers will come up with.
