LibraryThing in embassy libraries

Did you know that the U.S. State Department helps organize and maintain libraries around the world? They are set up as Information Resource Centers at embassies and consulates, and as American Corners (partnerships between embassy Public Affairs sections and local host institutions). In Afghanistan, they’re known as Lincoln Learning Centers.

LibraryThing offers free lifetime status for these accounts, and so far more than a hundred diplomatic libraries have begun to catalog their resources using LT. Just a few of those include:

    And you haven’t mentioned Ukrainian Resource Centers- they are known as Window on America Centers.

    Our American Corner, which is called American Corner UMY located at Yogyakarta, Indonesia, has set up a libraryThing account ( but still the free want, and the problem is of course the number of books that we can put in the library is limited. Is it possible that we can get the free lifetime subscription for our Corner? What should we do then, since we really want to have the full LibraryThing account so that we can share our collections?…thank you
